Any tips on how to braid my hair?

I can do the normal one right down the middle but by the top of my neck i get it really loose somehow, and i also want to know the best ways of braiding it down one side and all the other ways apart from juts down the middle.

Any tips on how to braid my hair?

With patience, a good movie for distraction and some mirrors, you can do most any hair braiding style on your own!

While there are many styles for you to choose from (see below), it's always good to have input and guidance from a professional to help you in between salon visits.

Straight, fine but thick, goes about 5-6 inches passed my shoulders.

I'll curl it with a curling iron, but it only lasts about 30 minutes and because I have so much hair, my curls don't turn out the way I want it to... Like, I'll have to get big curls becuase my hair is heavy or some thing like that.

My friend recommended braiding my hair before I went to bed or twisting it, but it didn't work. HELP?!

First spray your hair with hairspray

then:

1.straighten you hair

2 section your hair

3 grab small sections of hair and put your ghds on firmly or tightly depending on how curly you want them!

4 pull them down whilst twisting, just like you do when curling ribbon with scissors!

Then spray your hair at the end with hair spray to keep them in all day!

use mousse and scrunch it.

then add hairspray.

Wet it, put some gel or mousse on it and scrunch it to make curls, and it should be good for the rest of the day =)

You can still braid it- it might be harder, though, because some sections of hair might not be long enough to stay in the braid with the rest of your hair. Maybe you could get long layers, that might make it easier to braid.

You'll be able to braid you hair just fine there will be areas in your braid where the layers will poke out of the braid. Since your hair is different lengths the shorter hairs, depending on how short your layers are, won't make it all the way to the bottom of the braid.

it wont look as neat. not unless you put a lot of gunk in your hair to keep the stray hairs from getting loose out of the braid.

it works when it is first done and then falls out very easily.

let it grow out a bit and my braids are perfect.

if you layer them shorter than you shoulders it will be more difficult to braid

(you can always french braid at the top, but towards the actual braid little pieces fall out,)

it would be hard to braid if u get it layered really short but easie if it is a little bit long....depends on how long/short u want it..i would suggest getting it layered but keeping it long..hope that helps!

You should, but some peices may fall out. Make sure it's a really tight braid and use some hairspray and bobby pins if you have to.

What do you think of braids for a white girl? Would it even work in straight hair?

Hi, I have thought of getting braids before, but I just don't know. I love it when I see it on black women and the few occasions of white women. Also, I think dreds (sp?) are so cool- like the witch in Narnia- that was hot!

I don't think I'd ever do dreds though b/c that it like, irreversible (I think).

Would braids even hold up in straight hair? I can see how the kink in black women's hair would help the braids hold together. I just don't know...
