leave a little conditioner in your hair or apply a leave in once you rinse out your regular conditioner.

Don't braid it. just put it back in a sloppy bun or pony tail. or not at all. Braiding it is just going to give you a puffy crimpy look.

At night i also braid my hair, and from experience you spray your hair with a leave in conditioner when its wet at night, then braid, in the morning you put a bit of mouse in your hands, rub hands together and just run your hair through your hands and your done!

Hope this helps

use a hair serum that prevents poffy-ness..i think also if your hair was towel-dried b4 you braid it and let it dry

Put mousse or curling cream before braiding it. Almost all brands make one. I know Herbal Essesences makes one called "totally twisted"

mousse can flatten or volumize!

Gel, does it for me. But only the kind that says, non-alcohol. Gel with alcohol brakes your hair off. After I wash my hair it curls on its own so gel holds it, but for you after you wake up and unbraid it a lil gel or mousse should do the trick.
