What should I expect if I sleep with my hair in two braids?

I've heard that if you sleep with braids, it will be less crazy when you wake up in the morning. My hair is really thick and whenever I just sleep with it, in the morning it literally sticks out in every direction. It only looks decent right after I wash it, but I can't wash it in the morning. I don't know whether I should sleep with it braided tonight or not. I'm just afraid it'll be more crazy. (I don't mind some waves, just not having it stick out to the moon, you know?)

So what should I expect if I do this? Will it be worse or will it cure my crazyhairness? Thanks.

It will come out looking crimped. Just make sure before you braid it that you have it just barely damp....otherwise it's still gonna be wet when you wake up. Also apply a small amount of gel or mousse to help tame it in the braid.

When you pull the braid out....put a little shine serum on your hands and loosen the strands with your fingers. This will give the crimped curl more definition and help with the frizzy look...:)

yehh it will be waveyy . . more kinda .. i dunno not reallly curly. its the same as when you take a small plait out but much looser. i sleep with mine in braids someties and it turns out alright.

This will deffinately control your hair better. It will be easier to brush in the morning too! Although it will give you a slight wavy look. Depending on how tight the braid it will look less or more wavy. Tight = quite wavy while Loose = slightly wavy.

Whenever I brush my hair at night etc, the next day its so easy to manage, even after hours of sleeping on it. If you add the braids, and even make them loose braids after a good brush, your hair should stay tamed. Try it on a night where you know you will have time to still shower or aren't going anywhere too early so if its actually worse you can still fix it. I would stick w/ looser braides and the try to brush it out w/ your fingers irregardless of how tight you make them.
