HAIRSTYLE PLEASE??--Doesn't leaving your hair out make it tangled?

please help me. I have long, black hair thats like up to belly button (xD) and i usually braid it when i go out. my friend told me to leave it out as braiding the hair makes it prone to splitends etc.. but if i leave it out my hair gets EXTREMELY tangled.... anyone have a hairstyle for me??

My hair isn't nearly as long as yours but it does get tangled if I leave it down. Do a loose updo with bobby pins or leave half up half down.

a ponytail is probably the simplest version

...or maybe you could go to a hair stylist and ask them to braid your hair into loads of tiny plats, it lasts a really long time and i don't believe that it makes it prone to split ends (you could always ask a professional). I had that done when i had really long hair and it looked very pretty, fetches lots of compliments as well ;)

if you would like to leave your hair out you could use shampoos/conditioners for children (most of them stop hair from tangling) or brush it often to stop it from getting too tangled...

..I've just had a haircut because i got tired of brushing my hair all the time (17 inches of suffering, haha)
