Joss stone's wavy hair?

my hair is naturally straight.

i want to make it wavy like joss stone's hair in this picture;

i have already tried braiding my hair and leaving it on over night. the results werent the same.

i have already tried using a curling iron. and also, i do not want to perm my hair.

any other things i could try?

if your hair is stubbornly straight like asian hair, for example, it will not work without a body wave perm, even that might not take. but, when my hair was that long, i got the same effect by scrunching after towel drying with garnier fructis style xxl mousse %26amp; gel. i think any mousse and gel could work though. then, putting it up in a bun and finger scrunching a bit more, maybe with some more gel before heading out the door (air dry). the longer your hair gets, the easier it is to get that effect. well, at least that was the case for me...
