Funny thing, I just asked this question and someone told me you should wait at least 8 weeks after perming hair before braiding it. I agree that you should wait a few weeks, but to me 8 weeks is too long. I would say wait a least 2-3 weeks after perming. If you can wait three weeks, that would be great. Perming hair and then braiding it right away isn't good for the hair -because the hair is already in a bit of a fragile state after perming it. So you need to give it some rest and nurture it back to a stronger state before getting braids.
