I did this when I was in high school. The overall difference was marginal, but not good. Because the braid "ends" I got faint, faint waves with some spastic ends. It was easy to blow dry out, but did give me some split ends. Overall, because the waves didn't come out as strong as I had hope for, I ended up blowdrying it straight everyday making my hair less managable, which was the exact opposite of what I wanted! I had a friend that did lots of tiny, tiny braids, but the result was "crimped" looking hair with frayed ends. Yuck!
What will happen if you braid your hair and add perm solution?
It might work, but the curl won't be very even. If you did it, you'd have to use small braids so that the solution could permeate all the hair. But small braids would give you a crimpy look. I don't know if that's what you want to go for...

Do you mean perm your hair with the braids in? If so, no way... you cannot wash the perm completely out because it will get stuck in between the braided hair. I would advise doing something like that to your hair.

Your hair will either become crispy fried and fall out or it will work and look frizzed. I wouldn't do it if I were you but I'm not. If you do try it let us know how it went.

plus, if it's only in one braid or two, you'll have distinct sections, like 3 for one braid, or 6 for 2, and they'll all curl together if they curl at all and stay away from the other sections...that happens to me even if i don't use anything, just leave it in a braid long enough. trust me, permanent braids isn't the best idea...yikes.
